What Mandatory Safety Precautions Must Be Followed for Crane Operation?

Crane operation must strictly adhere to the following safety precautions:

Before operation: Check that the jib, hook, and steel wire rope are free from damage;

  • ensure the braking and control systems (such as load moment limiters) are functioning normally; clear obstacles in the operation area; and prohibit irrelevant personnel from entering the area.
  • During operation: Operate with a valid certificate; do not overload or lift objects obliquely; lift/rotate at a constant speed to avoid sudden starts or stops; monitor the equipment status and stop immediately if abnormal noise or odor is detected.
  • Special scenarios: Stop operation and secure the jib in case of strong wind, heavy rain, or heavy fog; turn on sufficient lighting for night operation; use special spreaders when lifting special goods and assign dedicated personnel for supervision.
  • Emergency handling: Cut off the power/hydraulic supply in case of failure; do not force operation when heavy objects are suspended, and set up warning signs; immediately evacuate personnel if there is a risk of falling.
